While BusinessWeeks’ angle makes it appear as if we are all just now “taking to the web” and ceremonially taking our turn “builder-bashing,” the reality is that we all have been at it since builders consciously decided to begin throwing together unsafe shanties, charging top dollar for them, and doing so without remorse or scruple. Then using their record profits to lobby, bribe, strong-arm, and sue problems (families and individuals) into oblivion. The difference now is that many, many more people have been screwed and others are beginning to listen (or hear their cries as it were).
An important point from the article, “Builders do seem to be concerned about the effect of gripe sites on their reputation. Miami-based builder Lennar (LEN) has filed more than one lawsuit against Mike Morgan, a
